On Sunday, just two days after scoring a hat-trick in Galatasaray’s decisive 4-0 victory against Antalyaspor, in-form Victor Osimhen and Bruno Onyemaechi became the first foreign-based stars of the Super Eagles to arrive in Kigali for the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda’s Amavubi.
The duo was welcomed at the Kigali International Airport by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who happened to be in the arrivals lounge with his assistants.
It’s worth noting that a delegation from Remo Stars, including Coach Daniel Ogunmodede and goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, along with Rangers Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, also arrived in Kigali on Sunday.
The Nigeria Football Federation has arranged accommodations for the Super Eagles at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Kigali.
The Super Eagles will face the hosts, Rwanda, on Friday evening, before taking on Zimbabwe in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25, as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers continue.
